TV personality and former celebrity Big Brother star Lauren Harries was shown storming off Channel 4’s Naked Attraction after being called “too old”. In the repeat episode which aired on E4 on Thursday, May 5, the former child genius, who was in the red box was rejected by hot tub installer, Rigby.
The scenes showed 27-year-old Rigby explaining his decision in asking Lauren to leave. He explained to host Anna Richardson: “I’m looking for someone to be with permanently and I think you might be a little bit too old for me”. “Ohhh, you never say that to a lady,” Anna replied: “Rigby you are saying farewell to the might Lauren, she’s a 41-year-old TV personality from Cardiff”.
Lauren didn’t look happy as she walked down from her red booth and made her way over to talk to host Anna Richardson and Rigby. When Anna asked Rigby to give Lauren a hug, Lauren back away and refused, putting her hands up saying: “No, no. You could have had the goods but you’re not having it now because you’re never going to get my backside now.”
“I’m going, I don’t want to be around him,” She continued: “Don’t say that to a woman about age just make up something. That’s your mother talking, alright?. You will be slapping yourself when you know who I am but also, you’ll be slapping yourself [because] you’re not with me so there you go.”
Speaking after her exit from the show, Lauren described herself as an ’empowered transgender woman’. She added: “All I can say is, he’s not getting this candy and he never will.”
In 2020, Lauren spoke to the Daily Star about her experience on the Channel 4 programme, which first aired in August 2019, and called the potential suitor an “arrogant sod”. “I’m softer than you think,” She said: “But I was strong on that show because when that guy told me that I was old, it made me sort of think ‘oh well’. After he said that I looked at him and I didn’t find him attractive anyway. I thought to myself ‘well you rude, arrogant, sod’.”.
