Crown Commercial Service is creating a procurement framework for big data and analytics services with an expected value of £ 2 billion.

In the procurement notice, CCS states that it will conclude a pan-government agreement that will be the recommended tool for all big data and analysis across the UK public sector organization.

This framework will be made available to the central government sector and all other public sector agencies in the United Kingdom, including local government, health, police, fire, rescue, education, and delegated government agencies.

It will run from April 2022 to April 2026 and the budget will be evenly distributed throughout the year.

According to CCS, big data and analytics are new and evolving features enhanced by pandemics.

Today, many government departments employ chief data officers and are rapidly becoming a business-critical and core business feature.

In addition, the government’s national data strategy requires organizations to access government data and investigate more effectively in order to improve public services.

CCS believes that offering a variety of purchasing options and pricing mechanisms will enable competitive sourcing across a pool of professional suppliers.

The framework addresses a variety of needs, from individual niche packages to complete data service transformations to brand new services.

The main purpose of this framework is to develop the capabilities of internal staff and reduce the skill gap across the UK public sector.

To participate in this procurement, the supplier must prove that it is Cyber Essentials Plus certified.
