Prior to the Innovation Market, the Career Academy partnered with local high school students where the students were able to display business models they have been working on throughout the duration of this school year. The students participating have the chance to win several small prizes.
The event started at 5 p.m. and concluded at 7:30 p.m.
“We have 21 total submissions, and it is open to the public so anyone can come and read the ideas. If they are interested in someday opening up their own business there will be another event in February so they can kind of get a feel for it. It is going to be a really fun event,” stated Board Chair for Innovation Market Kaylee Betterton.
Of the 21 submissions, the community decided on the 5 best ideas to move on to a separate event that will be hosted in June. The 5 winners will have the chance to compete for a prize of $5,000.
