Keanu Reeves may be set to join Hollywood’s biggest blockbuster franchise, with Marvel bosses confirming they are ‘in talks’ with the star about him becoming a member of the MCU.

Marvel fans have long hoped that Keanu, 54, would join the Marvel Cinematic Universe because, frankly, it’s probably one of the few things he hasn’t conquered in Hollywood.

Our hopes and dreams may be coming true though, as Marvel boss Kevin Feige revealed he is in talks with the studio.

Speaking at a Spider-Man: Far From Home press conference, Kevin told Comic Book: ‘We talk to him for almost every film we make.

‘We talk to Keanu Reeves about. I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it.’

Go on Keanu, do it for the fans.

Kevin also compared Keanu to Jake Gyllenhaal, whom they held ‘multiple’ talks with before he signed on for Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Needless to say, fans are thrilled at the prospect of Keanu becoming a superhero and suggested which characters they think he’d be perfect for.

One Marvel fanatic mused: ‘@Kevfeige it’s 99.99% most likely you won’t see this, but in the off chance there it’s the .01% I recently saw reports of you and Marvel Studios wanting to find a role for Keanu Reeves in the MCU. He’d make such a good Kravin the Hunter and be such a perfect fit. Thank you!’

While another chimed in: ‘You know what I would really be down for Keanu Reeves to play Namor.’

The actor has a lot on his plate at the moment, with starring roles in John Wick 3 – Parrabellum and the upcoming Toy Story 4. He’s also made an appearance in the Netflix rom-com Always Be My Maybe and it’s only June.

There may be more chance of Keanu reprising his role in a Speed sequel though before he signs up for Marvel.

His Speed co-star Sandra Bullock told Entertainment Tonight: ‘Maybe [when we’re] 67, 69 years old. We’ll be old and in the bus where they have that lift for the older people…

‘We’ll be an old married couple. We’ll have the walker and it will be about how we can get to the old people home before curfew. ‘So, that will be the [new] Speed. It will be a slow film, but a play on the word “speed”.’
